Prince has found a wonderful home and has started his trial with them.  We hope all will go smoothly and Prince has found his forever family. Will post again once trial period is over and we know for sure. Thank you to Fran and Ian for giving Prince a go and for opening your hearts and home to him.  We wish you all the very best!

This call for help comes from a lady who very sadly needs to re-home her precious pig friend, Prince.  This is what she has to say about him:

“Prince is a beautiful red and white mini pig. He is 7 months old and the size of a pug. He has beautiful long soft hair which compliments his soft nature. Prince loves being held and having cuddles under the blanket on the sofa. He loves being outside in the garden or going for walks to the park and beach. He has been around dogs cats chickens and children, and nothing phases him. Most dogs are curious as to what he is and always sniff him, but prince is fine with it. He is extremely social and laid back, so if you already have pets it won’t be a problem. In fact I think a play mate would be perfect for him. During the day he stays outside, and at night he comes in the house. He loves to be warm at night, so if you are going to keep him outside please make sure he has a blanket and shelter as he loves to bury himself in it when he sleeps. He eats anything… And I mean anything. I feed him weetbix for breakfast and dinner, and he loves his veggie scraps. Banana and mango are his favourite so please treat him occasionally to something sweet. This pig has brought nothing but joy and love to me since I brought him home in January and it’s not by choice that I find myself re homing him. It’s so important to me that he goes to a family who is willing to give him the love and attention he is used to and deserves. Prince will bring happy memories to any family.”

Prince’s new home will need to be in a Shire that allows the keeping of pigs and should have a Property Identification Code (PIC) registered with the Dept of Agriculture.  He would best suit a property with at least a few acres to be able to accommodate his growing size – pigs grow for three years so we estimate that he may end up being as big as around 80kgs; so a large paddock/yard, a cool wallow and shade for summer, and secure sheltered pen for winter are a must. Pigs love to dig and Prince is no exception to this rule… his new family would need to be understanding of this and be able to allow him to enjoy this fun and stimulating activity. It would be ideal if his new home can continue to allow him to come inside at night as he is very fond of being a house companion to his favourite humans.

Adoption fee: $100 (Prince is vaccinated, castrated & will be wormed before placement at new home).

We hope you can help us to help this lovely pig… please fill in the Expression of Interest form below if you would like to know more, or offer to adopt.

A huge THANK YOU to Jo from Shutterpaws for some of the beautiful photos featured below!

* Animal Actionist & New Homes For Rescued Farm Animals promotes non breeding of all rescued animals, particularly in the interest of breaking the cycle of unwanted farm animals (most of them males,) that find themselves with little time to find a new home and end up in danger of slaughter. All farm animals adopted via Animal Actionist are intended as family pets, and therefore the same rules that apply for non breeding of cats and dogs, applies to these animals too. If you apply to adopt you thereby agree and are bound to not use this animal for breeding.

All suitable applications are forwarded to the current custodian for consideration, and you will be contacted as soon as possible to discuss your offer further. Please understand that it may take a few days for us to respond to you depending on the amount of applications received, and it is never a case of first come, first served with animal adoptions, as we have to do our best to locate the absolute best homes for the animals. If you have any problems or further queries, please contact Animal Actionist direct via the “contact us” link. Thank you so much for caring for animals.
