We have wonderful news! Eddy has found the most magical home at a horse sanctuary down South. We honestly couldn’t think of a nicer place for this big guy to end up and sincerely thank Alan from Calan Horse Sanctuary for taking him in.  Congratulations Eddy… the future looks very bright for you big fella.

ORIGINAL POST:

Introducing the beautiful and stately looking Eddy. This hapless fellow found his way to a municipal pound after being discovered freely wandering the streets.  He has been waiting for his owners to claim him but unfortunately, nobody has come looking for this dear fellow. Impounded animals are always on a short timeframe so this is an urgent call for help with either adopting Eddy, or temporary foster placement while we continue our search for the right home.  Eddy’s current owners have until 5/12 to claim him, if he is not claimed by then we will be in a position to find a permanent safe home for him, perhaps that could be with you? If so, we would love to hear from you. Please read on for more information about this cheekily handsome boy;

NAME: Eddy

AGE: Approximately 7 years

HEIGHT: Approximately 15.2hh

WORMED: Yes

CASTRATED: Yes

TRAINING: Possibly broken to saddle – with more work needed to get beyond pacing (this information is unconfirmed). Accepts halter and direction when given confident guidance from trainer/handler.

TEMPERAMENT: Can be a bit cheeky, he does try to push the boundaries and get away with naughtiness. Has been reported that he is a biter at meal times but this behaviour has not been observed by the rangers caring for him at the pound.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: Eddy needs a knowledgable carer who can give him firm direction whilst remaining calm and gentle. Eddy’s ideal placement would be with an experienced someone who would enjoy working with him to improve his current skills and bring out his best behaviour by helping him to feel safe and loved. Most of all, Eddy needs a loving friend. It is unknown what he is like around other horses.

ADOPTION FEE: $150-200 (to be negotiated with the right home)

We hope you can help us to help this lovely horse… please fill in the Expression of Interest form below if you would like to know more, or offer to foster or adopt.

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST WITH ANYONE YOU KNOW WHO MAY BE ABLE TO OFFER A WONDERFUL HOME.

Please fill in our EXPRESSION OF INTEREST form if you would like to ask questions or offer to foster or adopt.

* Animal Actionist promotes non breeding of all rescued animals, particularly in the interest of breaking the cycle of unwanted farm animals (most of them males,) that find themselves with little time to find a new home and end up in danger of slaughter. All farm animals adopted via Animal Actionist are intended as family pets, and therefore the same rules that apply for non breeding of cats and dogs, applies to these animals too. If you apply to adopt you thereby agree and are bound to not use this animal for breeding.

All suitable applications are forwarded to the current custodian for consideration, and you will be contacted as soon as possible to discuss your offer further. Please understand that it may take a few days for us to respond to you depending on the amount of applications received, and it is never a case of first come, first served with animal adoptions, as we have to do our best to locate the absolute best homes for the animals. If you have any problems or further queries, please contact Animal Actionist direct via the “contact us” link. Thank you so much for caring for animals.
