William – affectionately known as “Billy” is in need of a new home as his owner was very ill and no longer able to care for him.

NHRFA found out about his plight and arranged for an urgent temporary home for him. He was an entire male and seemed very wary and demonstrated fear when approached by humans, so we knew he needed some TLC and vet work before he could find a forever home.

The amazing people at Paradise Pastures Farm Animal Sanctuary took him in and looked after him post castration surgery. They worked tirelessly to gain his confidence and show him that people mean him no harm.

Billy is now a much happier goat – and very ready to find a loving family who will keep him safe and secure. Could this be with you?

NAME: Sir William (aka Billy)

AGE: Approximately 3 years

BREED: Unsure – Miniature Cross (?)

HEIGHT: 90cm to shoulder (approx.)

WEIGHT: 40kg approx

TEMPERAMENT: Very feisty but loves to play and receive scratches.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: Billy is prone to getting a bit bossy over food so he needs a confident handler. He would really suit a home with other goats to play with. Goats need very good fencing as they are escape artists by nature. Ring-lock and line wire (top) is the best, at a height of approx 130-140cm. They are browsers, not grazers, so they will eat trees and bushes. They require regular vaccinations and good nutrition (contrary to popular belief, goats cannot survive on tin cans!) as well as shelter from the elements and vet care when unwell.

ADOPTION FEE: $70 (negotiable with the right home)

We hope you can help us to help this lovely boy.. please fill in the Expression of Interest form below if you would like to know more, or offer to adopt.

* Animal Actionist promotes non breeding of all rescued animals, particularly in the interest of breaking the cycle of unwanted farm animals (most of them males,) that find themselves with little time to find a new home and end up in danger of slaughter. All farm animals adopted via Animal Actionist are intended as family pets, and therefore the same rules that apply for non breeding of cats and dogs, applies to these animals too. If you apply to adopt you thereby agree and are bound to not use this animal for breeding.

All suitable applications are forwarded to the current custodian for consideration, and you will be contacted as soon as possible to discuss your offer further. Please understand that it may take a few days for us to respond to you depending on the amount of applications received, and it is never a case of first come, first served with animal adoptions, as we have to do our best to locate the absolute best homes for the animals. If you have any problems or further queries, please contact Animal Actionist direct via the “contact us” link. Thank you so much for caring for animals.
